Not From Here - Outdoor Escape Game at Wasserfallen
A stranger loses his notebook in the cable car. The contents only make sense once you decode them. From that point on, you have no choice but to follow him – 3.5 kilometers across the Wasserfallen region.
It begins in the cable car before you even reach the top. A man sits opposite you, appearing nervous, exits hastily – and leaves a notebook behind. Inside: a sequence of numbers that looks like nothing until you crack it. What it then reveals sounds like a bad joke: “Dragon’s Brood.”
Together with Mara and Luca, you follow his trail past the Wildblick rest area, the Kitz educational trail, and up to Waldweid. Along the way, you find what he has hidden. And the more you collect, the clearer it becomes: the stranger is not the actual problem. What he brought with him is.
We won’t reveal who he is or what happens at the zip line in the end. You will have to find that out for yourself.

To do before starting
The escape game runs via the Locandy app and locates the stations using GPS. To ensure everything runs smoothly, set up the app at the valley or mountain station – where you have good reception.
- Download the Locandy app. Free for iPhone and Android.
- Activate the “Not From Here” tour. Do this while still at the station with good reception. After that, everything runs offline.
- Turn on location services and set location access for the Locandy app to “Always.” This is the most common point of failure: if access is set to “While Using the App,” the game will not reliably recognize the stations along the way.
- Check battery. Two to two and a half hours with active GPS consumes a significant amount of power. A power bank is recommended.
Why it is worth it
An accompanying audio play. The tour is fully voiced: Mara, Luca, and a narrator speak, accompanied by sounds ranging from the rattling of the cable car to the cracking of undergrowth. You listen and act instead of just completing tasks.
Points that you can also lose. You start with 15 points. Correct solutions add points, while wrong ones cost you. Your final score is displayed at the end – turning the walk into a competition and encouraging a second attempt with a different group.
Puzzles that only work on-site. Identifying animal silhouettes, deciphering hidden codes, finding the right person in a hidden object picture: the stations are only unlocked via GPS when you are actually there. If you don’t look closely, you won’t progress.
A story that doesn’t take itself too seriously. What the stranger has hidden at Wasserfallen sounds like a joke at first and then becomes surprisingly urgent. The tour is not meant to lecture; it is meant to entertain – and by the end, you will likely be the first to laugh.
Made for groups. The puzzles are designed so that multiple minds progress faster than one. Ideal for groups of friends, teams, families with teenagers, or club outings.
Good to Know
- The route is approximately 3.5 kilometers long and follows natural paths. Hiking boots are recommended.
- The stations are GPS-based: you must actually go there; the game cannot be solved from your sofa.
- One smartphone per group is sufficient. You will need the puzzle booklet from the starter kit for taking notes and finding solutions.
- The puzzles are too challenging for children under 10. For them, the puzzle trail with Flix is available.
