Ober Passwang Mountain Restaurant
The Ober Passwang mountain restaurant is located at an elevation of 1,100 meters above sea level and is about 15 minutes away from the Passwang lookout point. From the mountain station, the restaurant can be reached in about 2 to 2.5 hours via the scenic ridge trail through Hinteri Egg, Chellenchöpfli, and Vogelberg.
The mountain inn is part of an organic farm with expansive meadows, pastures, and impressive panoramic views. It’s the perfect place to enjoy the view in the summer and escape the fog in the winter. On weekends, this small, charming mountain inn serves light refreshments from its simple mountain kitchen to hikers, day-trippers, and other visitors.
A deliberately concise menu features homemade specialties and select regional products. The selection ranges from various refreshing beverages and cold meat and cheese platters to fine coffee and homemade pastries. During the colder months, a warming soup is also available. If you’re visiting with a group, feel free to ask the hosts about additional options.
On sunny days, there is a self-service corner offering a selection of refreshing drinks, homemade pastries, and other snacks.
