Flix, Guardian of the Wasserfallen - Puzzle Trail for Families
A little red butterfly needs help. At eight stations, children aged 6 and up become nature detectives, color in a treasure map, and finally send a wooden marble on a journey.
Flix is a Burnet moth – a small, red-spotted butterfly that you can actually encounter at Wasserfallen. And Flix has a problem: the animals on the high plateau can no longer find their supplies and nests. Something is not right here.
That is why Flix needs nature detectives. At eight stations, your children will track down who is behind it: they read tracks, listen, look closely, and solve puzzles designed for children aged 6 and up. For every puzzle solved, a field on the treasure map is colored in. Gradually, a picture emerges – and this picture reveals at the marble run which track is the correct one. Anyone who knows the culprit at the end also knows why a tiny predator is so successful in the Jura.

You will find a QR code on every board. Behind it is Flix’s voice, continuing the story – in Swiss German if desired. Those who prefer to be out without a mobile phone can simply ignore the codes: the puzzles work without them too. - The Treasure Map
Not just paper to throw away, but a puzzle in itself. Only when all the fields are colored in does it reveal what is hidden on it. - The Marble Run
At the end, a marble run approximately ten meters long awaits at the Hintere Wasserfallen playground. The wooden marble from the starter kit is used right here. Additional marbles are available at the mountain inn. - The Giant Flix
At the rest area above Hintere Wasserfallen (Station 7), you can have your photo taken with an oversized Flix.
Good to Know
- Stations 2 to 7 can be solved in any order. So you don’t have to wait if another family is currently at a board.
- The path is short but leads over natural trails. Sturdy shoes are more comfortable than sandals.
- You can get through almost everywhere with a stroller. Only Station 7 is not accessible for strollers.
- Plan enough time for the playground and the marble run at the end. Experience shows that no one leaves there quickly.
- The tour is well-suited for children’s birthdays and outings with grandparents.
