Trail Running in Wasserfallen
The Wasserfallen region offers five different trail running routes for sports enthusiasts. The hilly Jura landscape is ideal for this sport and offers not only numerous exciting trails but also breathtaking views.
A Successful Start to the Wasserfallen Trail Running Day
On April 19, the Reigoldswil-Wasserfallen Cable Car (LRW) hosted the “Wasserfallen Trail Running Day” for the first time. Led by the well-known runner Simonne Hertenstein from Liestal, more than 20 enthusiastic runners set out on the mountain course, which was over 17 km long.
The group run took place in magnificent weather conditions, starting in Reigoldswil and passing through Rifenstein Castle to the Waldweide, the Hinteri Egg, and the Chellenchöpfli before reaching the LRW mountain station and returning to Reigoldswil, covering a total elevation gain of 700 meters. Along the way, experienced trail runner Simone Hertenstein shared plenty of interesting facts at various stops about the still-young, fascinating sport of trail running.
The unique views of the Jura Mountains and the stunning natural beauty of the Wasserfallen region rounded out the running experience.
