The drought is now affecting recreational activities as well: The first rope parks have suspended operations for safety reasons.
“The decision was made very suddenly. We knew the drought was bad. But the fact that we had to close from one day to the next came as a surprise,” says Reto Schweizer of Adventure Coaching & Rope Solutions in Frenkendorf. The operator of the Wasserfallen and Rheinfelden rope parks shakes his head.
