Alphorn Day at Wasserfallen
On Saturday, September 12, 2026, the unmistakable sound of the alphorn will ring out at Wasserfallen. The focus will be on the joy of making music together and the passion for the alphorn in the mountainous landscape of Wasserfallen.
At the Northwestern Swiss Alphorn Festival, female and male alphorn players from the region celebrate this traditional instrument and living Swiss cultural heritage against the stunning mountain backdrop of Wasserfallen.
With its sweeping views, the striking slopes of the Jura Mountains, and its unique atmosphere, Wasserfallen offers the ideal setting for this special musical experience. Visitors can look forward to full choirs, smaller ensembles, and the moving sounds of the alphorn carrying across the landscape. The event combines music, a sense of connection to one’s homeland, and social interaction, inviting people of all ages to enjoy a special day at Wasserfallen.
The gathering in Reigoldswil begins at 10:00 a.m. with a full choir performance. Afterward, the participants will perform in smaller groups on their way to Wasserfallen. Starting at 11:30 a.m., the first alphorn players will arrive at Wasserfallen and can be heard in the afternoon at various locations and in different ensembles. The event will conclude on a high note at 3:00 p.m. with a joint choir performance at the Hintere Wasserfallen mountain inn.
